Magpie Distilling was born out of a yearning to do something creative, authentic and whole bunch of fun. Established in 2020 but conceived not only as a concept but as a burning desire years earlier, it is owned and run by just us, Nikki and Geoff Drummond. As two former Sydney residents, this is our transition from the corporate world to something inspiring, local, challenging and satisfying - quintessentially Murrurundi.
Our goal is clear to us; to create high quality Spirits inspired by and drawn from the generosity of the people and land of the Upper Hunter.
Magpie Distilling, so named for the families of "Swoopy Boiz" who have inhabited our farm longer than we and keep careful watch on everything we do. Magpies are clever, social, proud and often fun - all qualities we endeavour to represent through our Spirits and our Brand.
